Quick and Easy Biscuits with Sprouted Flour

Biscuits are an easy-to-make additonal to any meal. These soft fluffy biscuits can be served for breakfast or with a bowl of soup for dinner. They are so delicous served with butter and honey or made into “Red Lobster” type biscuits.

The biscuits, pictured above, had chedddar cheese, garlic powder, and parsley added to the dough when it was mixed. After baking, the tops of the bicuits were brushed with melted butter which had garlic added to it.

What is sprouted flour, you may ask! Sprouted flour is made from whole grain that has been sprouted, dried, and then ground into flour. Sprouting grains break down antinutrients that prevent your body from from absoorbing the nutrients and vitamins. This creates a grain that is much easier for your body to digest. Sprouted flour also retains 100% of the bran and germ of the grain. If you would like to read more about sprouted flours here is a very interesting article…Benefits of Sprouted Flour!

  1. Your recipe calls for sprouted pastry flour. The image/bag you show is sprouted whole wheat (which is the one I have on hand), not sprouted pastry. I have read to add cornstarch to flour to make it a “pastry” substitute, but this would not be TH compliant. Arrowroot? Or are you just using the pictured flour product?
