Brown Sugar Sweetener Syrup is a very easy simple syrup to make. It just takes 3 ingredients besides water. With the additions of vanilla and cinnamon, you have a delightful syrup for coffee drinks.

The espresso, brown sugar sweetener syrup, almond milk-half and half-collagen, and ice are shaken together until frothy. Poured over ice, you have a delicious drink chock full of protein.

The drink should be frothy after being shaken for 15-20 seconds. If you use a shaker jar it will have more froth than if you use a regular jar.

Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso, THM FP

  • Brown Sugar Syrup:
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar sweetener substitute
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Drink:
  • 2 espresso shots or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar sweetener syrup
  • 1/4 cup almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons half and half
  • 1 scoop THM Optimized Collagen
  • 1 1/4 cups ice, divided
  • Making the syrup: Combine the brown sugar sweetener and water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil. Add vanilla and cinnamon. Boil 2 minutes. Remove from heat and cool completely.
  • Making the coffee drink: Make 2 shots espresso or strong brewed ice coffee. Allow it to set for 1 minute to cool. Combine half n half, almond milk, and collagen until smooth. Pour espresso into a quart mason jar. Add brown sugar syrup and mixed milk/collagen . Add 3/4 cup ice. Shake for 15-20 seconds until it is foamy. Fill a serving glass with the remaining ice. Strain espresso over the fresh ice in your cup. Enjoy!!

Pure Vanilla Extract I love to use a good quality vanilla in my syrups and coffee drinks. If you do not make your own vanilla, this is a great kind.

Ceylon Cinnamon is native to Sir Lanka and southern parts of India. These tight sticks with soft layers are made from the Cinnamomum verum tree. It has a delicate mildly sweet flavor and is prized in cooking.

Breville Barista Espresso Machine is a wonderful machine. If you love to make espresso, this is the machine to have. They are easy to use and will make any delightful drinks.

Shaker jars work very well to make this drink. These lids fit mason jars and will stain out the ice when you pour the drink in to your cup.
