Breakable Chocolate Heart

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner….and this chocolate heart would be a lovely gift to your sweetheart!

You can decorate these hearts in all kinds of ways…You can drizzle chocolate over the heart and accidently spill some like I did…then just add some more so no one knows you made a mistake!!!!

Breakable Chocolate Hearts are the new rage right now. You can easily make them with all the sugar-free chocolate that is available now in stores or online. Below I have listed my favorite sugar-free chocolate brands.

Lily’s Chocolates are sweetened with Stevia and have a wonderful taste. The milk chocolates are the best but they also have quite a number of flavors such as Mint, Butterscotch, Salted Caramel, Dark, and seasonal flavors like Pumpkin Spice. These chocolate chips can be found at most large supermarkets, Walmart, and on Amazon.

ChocZero has all kinds of keto bark, chocolate chips, truffles, nut spreads, sugar-free syrups, and much more. They have some specialty items available over holidays.

Bake Believe Chocolate is another sugar-free chocolate that melts very well. I used it to make the chocolate heart. The candy that I used to fill the heart was a mixture of Lilly’s, ChocZero, Smart Sweets, ect.

  • Prepare the form: I put crinkled paper into a bowl to hold the form. Melting the chocolate: *In a microwavable bowl, melt 8 ounces of chocolate. I microwave it 75 seconds, in 15 second intervals, stirring well between each time. Pour 3/4 of the melted chocolate into the heart form. Brush with a pastry brush until the entire form is coated, adding more chocolate if needed. Place mold in a cold spot, like the fridge or outside like I did. (we had 6 degrees weather). When it is hardened, add a layer if chocolate around the edge to thicken the edge. Place in a cold spot to harden. Carefully peel the silicon mold off of the chocolate shell. Repeat from the * to make another shell but allow this shell to remain in the mold. Filling the heart: Combine the candy you want to place into the heart. I used all kinds of sugar-free chocolates and other candies. Putting the hearts together: Heat a glass plate until warm. Put plastic gloves on your hands so you dont get any finger prints on the chocolate. Take a heart shell, rub the shell edge on the plate to melt the edge flat. Fill the shell will your candies and chocolate covered strawberries. Take the remaining heart shell, rub the shell edge on the plate to melt the edge flat. Place the shell over the other shell, and press lightly so that the edges adhere. Decorate the top of the heart as desired.

This is what the shell looks like after it has hardened. Silicon molds peel off of the chocolate very easily.

I used all kinds of sugar-free chocolates and other candies. One heart I even put a few chocolate covered strawberries in it.

I have decorated these hearts in different ways. I have used white and tan boxes to present them in. Tied with a jute string, added flowers …. they all look lovely. The box above is a filled double heart.

The heart above is a half shell with chocolate covered strawberries included in the box.

These Salted Caramel Chocolates are so good…..I had to hide a few so I would get some since my family loved them, too. You can add any of these candies to fill your heart.

These delicious Strawberry Cream Chocolate Roses are so tasty….your sweetheart will love them.
