Just recently it was discussed that most of us love our THM S meals and just don’t get enough of THM E meals. Personally, I love E meals and feel much better on them. Here is a roundup of all kinds of E meals. You will see main dishes, desserts, side dishes, and or course lots of sourdough items.

Sourdough is a fascinating world to me. it is a cheap economical way to make healthy bread items. Best of all–it is much healthier for our bodies. I do not eat much of the sourdough items I make as I limit myself to twice a week. To find out how to make a sourdough starter check out this blog post.

This recipe is my most popular recipe on my blog. It only takes five ingredients and can be stirred together with a large spoon or spatula. My 10 year old daughter can easily stir this loaf together.

Freezing and preserving food has been handed down to me from my mother and grandmother. I have taken old time favorites and revised them to sugar-free. You will find over 50 in the Preserving Section of Around the Family Table Cookbook.

This is one of the easiest sourdough recipes to make. Best of all: they’re super delicious.

Pears and Lime go together so well in this dish. Try it you may be surprised how refreshing it is.

Every time i make this dish it reminds me of the lovely county of Nicaragua. Our daughter spent tow years there in voluntary service under a Conservative Christian Mission. We all left a part of our hearts there.

I love my Insta-Pot. These two recipes can cook while you are busy doing other work. My Insta-Pot has been a big time-saver for me and I wouldn’t want to be without it.

I’m thankful for your “whole food”recipes that encourage me to incorporate my sourdough and canning into the THM lifestyle.
I’ve struggled with the no sugar when it comes to jams and butters using gentle sweet or super sweet as I once wasted A LOT of fruit using stevia to sweeten jam. (Or hogs LOVED IT!) I use low sugar/no sugar pectin called Pomona Pectin. Do you have experience with it? How long will your Apple butter last on the shelf? 1 year? Can we substitute gentle sweet “one for one” in our jam recipes? Any help will be greatly appreciated from this long time canner.
Abundant Blessings
Val Colvin
I do use Pomona’s Pectin at times but often use unflavored gelatin in jam because it is more economical. Apple butter should last a full year on the shelf. I use my own sweetener in my jams and it measures the same as Gentle Sweet.
