Here are the top five recipes on my blog! Is anyone surprised that three of the five are sourdough recipes?
Sourdough bread is so fascinating to me. I love to experiment with different ways, methods, and with my large family, they eat it right up. This method is very easy and the gluten is developed by the stretch and folds. This No-Knead Whole Wheat Bread recipe is a simple recipe that only uses 5 ingredients. It is just stirred together using a large spatula or Danish Dough Whisk like I have.
I found my clay baker at a thrift store for just a few dollars and I love it. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to make bread. You just need a few simple ingredients and kitchen utensil!
The key to a successful sourdough baking day is a mature starter. If you want to jump right into baking bread you can order a starter from my blog store. You can even purchase sourdough starter kits which include flours, vital wheat gluten, sourdough starter, and my cookbook.

Zucchini is one of the most prolific vegetables you can grow in your garden. Once they are picked they can be use in almost any vegetable side dish and even transformed into cakes, cookies and bars. I try and pick zucchini small…no larger than 10-12 inches but occasionally some get overlooked.
This Zucchini Quiche is our favorite way to use the many zucchini we get from our garden. You can vary the cheeses but smoked gouda is so good in it, too.
If I want this dish as a main course dish, I will add browned, drained Italian sausage just before pouring it into the baking pan. Served with a salad this quiche becomes a very filling main dish.
Honey Oat Sourdough Bread is a favorite in our family. This sandwich style loaf is soft and so delicious. You can also shape this dough into dinner rolls or hamburger buns! It is so versatile.
My previous recipe for 5 loaves was made with our large family in mind. I have downsized the recipe for just one loaf of bread which is easily mixed in a Kitchen Aid Mixer or Bread Machine. A bread machine works well to mix the dough but you will need to remove it to allow it to ferment for 7 hours. This recipe will make a 1 1/2 pound loaf with all the tasty goodness of the previous recipe.
Do you want a tasty guilt-free cinnamon roll with your morning coffee? Here is a sugar-free sourdough one that I make for special occasions. These are a crossover–meaning they have both carbs and fats in them. I did add yeast to the dough to give the more traditional cinnamon roll taste. The sourdough starter ferments the dough making it “on plan” and the yeast helps with the rise and taste.
If you have never heard of browned butter..you really need to try it. When you cook the butter until it turns golden brown …it gives the icing a delightful caramel taste. These Cinnamon Rolls taste like you are eating a sugar filled treat but you aren’t!
You can do a different twist to them and make these Apple Cinnamon Rolls.
5. Oreo Cake Roll
This Oreo Cake Roll Recipe was only posted on November 21, 2019 but it hit the top five in a few days. It is just so delicious!
Have you ever seen a cake roll in a bakery and wondered if you could make one? These delicious desserts are really not that difficult to make. Let me give you a few hints to making these desserts for your Holiday table!
